I am running for
Steamboat Springs City Council.
"Steamboat is special, and special places take thoughtful leadership."
My campaign is founded on Realism versus Idealism.
Compromising Solutions versus All or Nothing Tactics.
Idealism vs. Realism in City Leadership
Idealism
-
Ideally, housing for everyone, and everyone lives where they work.

-
Ideally, high quality childcare is perfect, free, and always available.

-
Ideally, a zero-carbon lifestyle with all the modern perks.

-
Ideally, endless powder, bluebird days, no lift lines, and a fully stocked grocery store where only your friends are shopping.
Realism
-
Realistically, we can deliver targeted housing solutions so working individuals and families have stability. Not everyone desires to live where they work.

-
Realistically, we can expand support for parents by streamlining licensing, updating zoning, and subsidizing home daycare centers so families can be part of the solution.

-
Realistically, we need climate solutions that actually clean the air, protect our forests and rivers, and don’t just export our carbon to our neighbors in Hayden and Craig where the electricity is produced.

-
Realistically, we live in a very desirable town, and we’ll get whatever weather Mother Nature gives us... the rest, well, that’s just a dream.

The choice is clear: Idealism raises awareness, but Realism gets results.
Steamboat needs leaders who act pragmatically, direct resources strategically, and deliver real solutions based on compromise, not the “all or nothing” mindset
that ends with ‘Well... Ideally we must have.’
That approach has produced zero results under
the current council that ran on Brown Ranch.
